Bokeh

Bokeh (/ˈboʊkə/ BOH-kə or /ˈboʊkeɪ/ BOH-kay; Japanese: [boke]) is the aesthetic quality of the blur. Bokeh is produced by the out-of-focus areas of a lens. 

What defines bokeh is “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light.”
