As we continue to unveil our new mentors throughout 2022, we will add new subjects like producing, editing, documentary filmmaking, and wellness.
Courses are released regularly each month granting All Access members a variety of film subjects that are taught by industry professionals who practice what they preach. Enhance your mastery of each subject or pick and choose per your interests.
That is to say, don’t know where to start? That makes sense since there’s so much content available at the All Access level, and it could be a bit jarring to new filmmakers. One way to begin is by navigating to your favorite subjects like cinematography or directing. So, if you’re new, there are filmmaking courses for beginners like David Cole’s Color Correcting: Terms & Techniques and The Playbook Unscripted Camera Operating with Sherri Kauk.
Also, courses are curated in sideways scrollable playlists like Theory, Camera & Lens Tests, Lighting for Nighttime, and Getting Started in Your Career, among plenty of other helpful categories. We particularly recommend the Build the Path for Your Career category where you can choose from beginner and advanced career pathways, like directing and cinematography!
Live Online Events
In addition to our highly produced pre-packaged filmmaking courses, we also provide live online masterclasses that are instructed by mentors. In other words, you have the opportunity to learn crucial skills and techniques and get your questions answered in real-time!
Camera, Lens, and Filter
Filmmakers Academy’s next live online masterclass is Camera, Lens, and Filter with Shane Hurlbut, ASC.
In this live masterclass, Shane shares crucial tips, various camera builds, and advanced methodologies acquired from his 30+ years working as a director of photography.
Discover how to be creative with camera settings and color science, as well as how the camera, lenses, and filters work in unison to capture the best imagery.
