Michael Cioni’s “Golden Nuggets of Filmmaking” Part 5

Michael Cioni
President & CEO, Light Iron
These are the final three pieces of Michael Cioni’s presentation at Revolution Cinema Rentals, the “epic conclusion” if you will! Michael offers incredible insight into the evolution of the film landscape, diving into valuable areas of both technical and philosophical perspectives on filmmaking. Michael has made a lasting impact on the film world over the years and will continue to do so in the future, especially when Light Iron was purchased by Panavision in early December of 2014.

I appreciated Michael’s views but disagree on the last one about the closeup. The closeup has been way overused in TV and by directors used to directing for the small screen. The closeup is too powerful to use frequently, it should be saved and used for impact in special moments.
