I really enjoyed the story of how Kino Flo came to be. Great interview. Not being in the industry, I have hacked my lighting and I’ve really liked the results of putting a bunch of shop lights together and lighting scenes with it. The occasional inhalation of mercury from exploding tubes only adds to my character………..right?.
Great story. Julien did an awesome job putting this interview together. I enjoy hearing the business side as much as the creative.

I live and work in the UK as Lighting Gaffer, shooting prime time television drama. I started out in the industry in 1984 and have watched the Kino Flo lighting system grow rapidly during that time. I use them every working day, it may just be a single tube or a bank of Vistabeams but like Magic Arms, they are a obligatory part of my lighting kit. Julien, just a question you maybe able to answer, at the start of your interview with Freider there is a black and white stills shot in your footage, Freider is on the left, and I believe it is Robbie Muller DP on the right, am I correct? I worked with Robbie on a film in Paris in 1996, and that guy in the picture looks very much like him.
