The Illumination Tour wasn’t coming to my area so I booked a flight to Vancouver so I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to take this workshop. I’m excited to say the least! The course looks fantastic. See you in Van!
Yeah Brad! We love your passion and proactivity. Thanks for making the extra effort.
Hello Shane, I have registered for your Illumination workshop in Vancouver and I am very much looking forward to it! This only gets me more excited! =)
David,
We are thrilled to have you in Vancouver! Thanks for taking the time to comment on the gallery.
Simply put… One of the greatest experiences of my career. Thank you to Shane and team, all of the sponsors and many thanks for such an incredible experience! Chicago.
Thank-you Patrick for your wonderful words that touch our hearts.
Lydia
I’m currently living in Greenville, SC and I went to the workshop in Charlotte and the workshop and Masterclass in DC! What an incredible experience and day of learning! Thank you Shane and Lydia for your forward thinking and your desires to share your knowledge amassed over the years.
Ben, we love S. Carolina! Thank-you for making the effort and traveling. It has been an honor for us to get to meet so many passionate filmmakers. We have a lot in store for 2015 too!
Do you have this worksop on DVD so that people like me currently living in a foreign country could buy it? Many thanks.
Luobu,
Yes we do. We are reviewing the footage now and it should be ready by the end of this month. To pre-order go to http://www.illumination-experience.com/
Enjoy the holidays,
Lydia
Shane you are all class. A master teacher who loves what he does and wants to share with enthusiasm and fully focused.
It’s great when someone can get you excited about lighting and fire up the whole room. Thank you for sharing your skills.
The Vancouver tour was great and I hope to review the films you have worked on and study how you light.
Take care.
David
David,
Thank-you for the wonderful words. Studying the way others light is so important.
Best of luck on your journey.
Lydia
Attended the Vancouver stop and loved every second of it. So much insight delivered in the most enlightening and entertaining way – thank you for sharing your experience and expertise with us, and for reminding me what drew me to film in the first place. All the best.
All the best to you too Laurence. Shane loves what he does and the stories make the learning fun!
Lydia
Salt Lake stop was awesome. Let’s see some photos crew members!
-D
Thanks so much Dru! Don’t sorry they’re coming! Freddie “Danger” is all over it!
Shane, Lydia, and crew…thanks for your tireless effort to make each and every one of us feel extra special. I know how grueling these three months has been to all involved. The last stop I attended had the energy as if you guys had just started. To the sponsors that brought with them their toys and and expertise, I thank you. You have heard it many times before, but let me say your approachability was what sets you apart. Your crew members are the backbone of this experience as many times that they had been fired and hired.
Until next time . . .
I also want to thank Shane & Crew for a great workshop @ Delfino! Everyone was very approachable and willing to explain things when asked. I left with some great experience and some new ideas to try. The evening at Technicolor was a fantastic bonus. Thanks again!
I would really like to attend the Illumination Experience, will there be a tour in 2015? Thanks.
No, we are not doing another IE Tour in 2015. The only way left to experience it would be to purchase the downloads in the store.
Hi! I can’t find the L.A. IE gallery, is it going to be available?
Thanks
I’m also looking for the L.A. gallery.
Is there a reason why there won’t be a tour in 2015?
Would I get the exact output by watching the video ?
Thank you!
Kevin, I cannot do a tour like this every year as it conflicts with my shooting schedule with feature films and commercials. This is something that my team and I will revisit in the coming years, but the last time I did an educational event was in 2010 and it was only in Los Angeles. The videos capture everything that I did on the tour and are extremely valuable, I’m certain that you will learn a ton if you watch them.
