36th Annual ASC Awards: Celebration of Cinematography
The 2022 ASC Awards ceremony kicked off with a bang – as it was the first time in over two years that the ASC Clubhouse hosted an in-person event. The entire event was made possible by the ASC Awards Committee and Chair Chuck Minsky and hosted by the very talented Debbie Allen.
Over 600 attendees watched the event split between the Clubhouse and tents that enveloped the ASC campus, replete with 4K monitors to help facilitate the safety protocols for Covid-19. Our very own Shane Hurlbut, ASC and Lydia Hurlbut were in attendance to celebrate the most outstanding cinematographers of the past year.
The evening’s presenters included a memorable assemblage of industry leaders like Denis Villeneuve, Tamlyn Tomita, LaMonica Garrett, Rachel Morrison, ASC, and Jay Holben. There were plenty of sponsors who also made the event possible. A welcome video was created by Delphine Figueras and Lawrence Sher, ASC and sponsored by MBS, followed by the opening reel that was edited by Don McCuaig, ASC, was sponsored by Rosco. Category sponsors of the night include Sony, Picture Shop, Red Digital Cinema, Panavision, Unreal Engine, ARRI, and Keslow Camera.
