In breakout rooms, you can introduce yourself, share work experiences, and seek crucial advice.
3. Music Video Cinematography Masterclass with Justin Jones
In this insider study into shooting music videos for major artists, cinematographer Justin Jones reveals his most effective and streamlined camera and lighting techniques and methodologies.
Beginning with theory, Justin shows his process of designing the look and feel of each technique and then demonstrates how he pulled it all off. He divulges the nuances of moving hard light, handling shutter speed effects, and lighting with a projector.
Over the course of this masterclass, Justin breaks down three masterful setups from three of his most iconic music videos.

4. Group Coaching with Justin Jones
Originally streamed live to all FA members on March 19, 2023, Justin sits down (virtually) with members to look at their work and answer their questions.
Every month a mentor is featured in our Group Coaching Session where they answer four pre-selected questions and interact with 30 members who register ahead of time. All other members tune in on the FA platform and take part via the chatbox.

5. Commercial Directing: On Set Shadowing Course with Jordan Brady
Commercial Directing: On Set Shadowing places you virtually on set with director Jordan Brady for three unique commercial spots.
Starting out, Jordan guides you through the virtual shadowing process and explains what to do before the agency phone call. Then, he directs you through set etiquette and how to manage the crew, performers, and the ad agency. From there, Jordan plunges you into each of the three spots and concludes with a massive brain dump.

6. Justin Jones Breakdown Series – Earth, Wind & Fire Premium Lesson
In this series, Justin breaks down the music videos that he shot throughout his professional career as a cinematographer. Showcasing behind-the-scenes photos and videos, Justin talks through things like camera and lens choices, lighting setups, locations, and more.
In this lesson, you’re going to learn how to:
- Look at unique setups considering light and camera movement
- Make your subject appear surrounded by fire
- Make your subject appear as if they are on a moving stretcher in a hospital
- Make your subject appear like they’re free falling
- Create fake rain with a rain machine

7. Hollywood Editing Mentor Podcast (feat. Joaquin Elizondo) Now Available
The Hollywood Editing Mentor Podcast is now available on Filmmakers Academy to All Access members! Hollywood Assembling and cutting final shots to the required length in order to achieve the desired results.

Joaquin started his career as an editor in broadcast media in 2002, but it took networking and meeting industry veterans who would become his mentors to finally get that big break. What the Hollywood Editing Mentor Podcast does is provide a discourse for editors to learn about successful editors and their career journeys and workflows.

1. Finding the Frame with producer Jason Baum
Finding the Frame is Filmmakers Academy’s flagship podcast series hosted by Brendan Sweeney. The series features industry professional cinematographers, directors, costume designers, producers, and more!
Jason Baum won his first Grammy in 2018 for his work on Kendrick Lamar’s HUMBLE, and his credits include Spike Jonze’s 5x Emmy-nominated documentary feature film Beastie Boys Story; and the videos for Otherside and Don’t Jealous Me from Beyoncé’s Grammy-nominated visual album Black Is King. Jason also produced upcoming releases such as The Seven Faces of Jane starring Gillian Jacobs; the sci-fi thriller It’s What’s Inside starring Brittany O’Grady and Alycia Debam-Carey; and Disney+’s Remembering starring Brie Larson.
